Grant Award: $20,000

FireLoch is advancing low-carbon, community-based housing solutions in Nova Scotia through hands-on learning and demonstration. In partnership with Skeetchestn Dodeca-Homes, an Indigenous-led housing company, FireLoch is developing a modular, timber-based building and training hub that will engage participants from Mi’kmaw and underserved communities in sustainable construction and basic carpentry skills. The project will serve as a demonstration site for low-carbon modular housing while building local capacity to address Nova Scotia’s housing and climate challenges.
