05/09/23

HCi3 has received a grant of $740,000 over five years from the McConnell Foundation to support climate solutions that advance social equity and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples. This grant is part of a larger $5 million grant from the McConnell Foundation to the Low Carbon Cities Canada (LC3) Network, of which HCi3 is a member.

The funding will support HCi3 to develop relationships, support climate leadership, build capacity in our organization and community, and support dedicated staff and resources all with the purpose of promoting equity and reconciliation within our broader climate programming.

The LC3 network also received a $5 million grant from the Trottier Foundation to support work at the Greater Montreal Climate Fund and an additional $2 million from the McConnell Foundation to accelerate building renovation in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area through The Atmospheric Fund.
